CALAM is a medication, available in glycerine-based lotion mainly used for soothing & cooling action. The medication is composed of Calamine 15%, Sodium Citrate 0.50%, Zinc Oxide 5%, Liquified Phenol 0.50%, Bentonite 3%, Glycerine 5% & Rose Water.
Calamine is used to treat itching and skin irritation caused by chickenpox, insect bites or stings, measles, eczema, sunburn, poison ivy, and other minor skin conditions
Sodium citrate acts as a buffering agent in cosmetics products to control their pH levels.
Zinc oxide works like a gentle astringent that also comes with antiseptic action. Zinc Oxide act as a key sunscreen ingredient that is effective in providing protection from UV light.
Liquified Phenol has antiseptic properties and also used to remove layers of dead skin.
Bentonite removes toxins from the body and helps treat oily skin.
Glycerin is commonly used with occlusives, another type of moisturizing agent, to trap the moisture that it draws into the skin
Rose Water helps maintain the skin’s pH balance, and also controls excess oil. It also has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, get rid of acne, dermatitis, and eczema
Usage:
Use this medication on the skin only. Follow all directions on the product package, or use as directed by your doctor.
Moisten a cotton ball or similar applicator with the lotion.
Apply lotion to the affected skin area with the cotton ball.
Let the lotion dry on the skin.
Repeat as often as needed.
Avoid getting this medication in the eyes, mouth, nose, and genital/anal areas. If you do get the medication in those areas, flush with plenty of water
