Clindamycin Phosphate & Benzoyl Peroxide Gel
CLIM – B 5%
CLIM – B 5% is a combination of two medicines Clindamycin Phosphate & Benzoyl Peroxide which is used for the treatment of acne and kill bacteria causing acne. Clindamycin Phosphate is an antibiotic and Benzoyl Peroxide is a keratolytic agent. Clindamycin is a member of the group of antibiotics that prevent bacteria from producing vital proteins needed for growth, multiplication, and population expansion. Consequently, acne is cleared and bacteria development is slowed or stopped. In order to eliminate dead skin cells and soften skin, benzoyl peroxide, a keratolytic agent, breaks down the protein keratin, which is a component of the structure of the skin. hence aids in decreasing whiteheads and blackheads. Additionally, benzoyl peroxide has antibacterial qualities that enable it to eradicate acne-causing germs as well as lessen inflammatory acne lesions.
A broad-spectrum antibiotic known as clindamycin Phosphate works against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria that are aerobic (grow in the presence of oxygen) and anaerobic (grow in the absence of oxygen). The bacteria that causes acne feeds on the sebum secreted by the skin’s sebaceous (oil) glands, producing fatty acids and waste materials that irritate the oil glands and cause swelling and redness. Clindamycin prevents the synthesis of vital proteins required for bacterial growth, multiplication, and population growth. Furthermore, benzoyl peroxide has antibacterial qualities that enable it to eradicate acne-causing germs and lessen inflammatory acne lesions.
