Isotretinoin is related to a category of drugs called retinoids mainly used to cure a severe form of acne known as nodular acne that cannot be cleared by any other treatments, also with antibiotics. Nodular acne is severe acne that is generated due to the excessive formation of oil in the skin cells, causing swollen, red, and tender lumps in the skin. Acne nodules are bigger than normal pimples.
